The study dealt with climatic changes of rainfall quantities and their effects on agricultural development in the Asir region, as it is one of the most important sources of water approved for irrigation. The aim of the research is to understand the climate factor and its impact on agricultural production and agricultural development, by analyzing its components of heat. Rain The goal is also to identify the most important problems of climate change affecting agricultural development, in addition to analyzing the relationship of rain to the production of agricultural crops, with the aim of coming up with a classification of agricultural crops according to their relationship to the amount of rain, The study adopted the descriptive and analytical approach in describing and analyzing climatic data for annual, seasonal and monthly averages of rain during the period (1985-2017) and production of agricultural crops (grains and vegetables) to show the relationship between the variables, And the results came that there is a spatial discrepancy between the rains of the different sectors in the Asir region (the mountainous sector, the plateau and the coastal plain), and that the cereal crops come first in terms of their correlation with the amount of rainfall in the study area. The study also concluded with several recommendations that contribute to increasing the effectiveness of rains and thus achieving agricultural development in the Asir region.
