This study sought to clarify the urban sprawl between the years (1969 - 2024) that occurred in Medina, whose importance stems from its being a holy city. Because of the presence of the Noble Prophet’s Mosque and the grave of the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him. Because it is a destination for Muslims from all over the world, its urban area increases with its population. Due to the virtue of housing and the blessing therein, it aimed to estimate the size and percentage of urban sprawl, as well as the trends of urban sprawl in the city during the period extending between these two dates through the use of software with a spatial dimension. Geographic information systems and remote sensing technologies were used, represented by the ArcGIS and Erdas Imagine programs, due to their high ability to accurately produce maps using the Earth Engine website. And through the website of the Saudi Geological Survey (SGS) and the World Geological Survey (USGS).
